DAY 01: Sydney to Jervis Bay (220 km)

Leaving Sydney you will drive south along the coastline to the beautiful Jervis Bay. Travel through the Royal National Park and onto the Grand Pacific Drive with spectacular coastal scenery. Travel across the impressive Sea Cliff Bridge and through rainforests and quaint coastal villages. Travel through Wollongong famous for its beautiful coast lines. Continue south where many lookouts provide breathtaking views both north and south. It’s all here – rugged cliffs, sheltered bays, azure blue waters and infinite stretches of golden sandy beaches.

 

DAY 02: Jervis Bay to Merimbula (316 km)

Today you will continue your journey south to Merimbula. For the majority of the drive you’ll have National Park views to the West, and stunning coast line views to the East. About halfway through the day you’ll come through Bateman’s Bay where you’ll find beautiful beaches, and abundant wildlife. This would be the perfect area to sit and have a cup of coffee and take in the scenery. Continue south through more coastal towns, such as Broulee, Tuross Heads, Narooma, Tilba, Tilba on your way to Merimbula, where lagoon, lakes and ocean are separated by white sand, and fringed by unspoilt bushland stretching up into the mountains.

 

DAY 03: Merimbula to Gipsy Point (97 km)

Following the Princes Highway you’ll drive through many towns and beautiful forests on your way to the state border of New South Wales and Victoria. Continue onto Eden and soon after, cross the border into Victoria to Gipsy Point, situated on the turquoise waters of the Mallacoota Inlet.

 

DAY 04: Gipsy Point to Lakes Entrance (190 km)

You will now continue on the Princes Highway along the Southern Coast of Australia. Western Victoria is filled with beautiful untouched National Parks, one of the most famous being Croajingolong National Park. Driving along Princes Highway, you will pass Cann River and Orbost, situated on the banks of the Snowy River, before travelling on to Lakes Entrance. Lakes Entrance is a unique area with rivers, lakes and lagoons joining 90 Mile Beach.

 

DAY 05: Lakes Entrance to Melbourne (319 km)

Leaving Lakes Entrance travel to the nearby picturesque village of Metung, also situated on the Gippsland Lakes. Nearby Bairnsdale is situated on the banks of the Mitchell River and is close to Raymond Island and ideal spot for wildlife spotting, particularly koalas. You’ll then continue west through the towns of Sale and Traralgon. Travel through the bushland of Victoria dotted with small towns until you reach Victoria’s capital city, Melbourne.

Your car is booked until tomorrow and should be dropped off at the city or airport, by the same time as it was picked up on Day 1, to avoid any additional charges.
