DAY 01: Ayers Rock
On arrival collect your vehicle and check into your room at Ayers Rock.
This afternoon we suggest a tour out to the Rock and just drive slowly around it before heading to “Sunset Strip” to see the famous sunset over Uluru.

 

DAY 02: Ayers Rock
An entire day to explore what the region has to offer. Take a walk around the Rock, a visit to the Cultural Centre, a Harley ride around the Rock or a scenic flight. This afternoon try a picnic lunch at the Olgas and a walk through the Valley of the Winds before viewing another spectacular sunset.

 

DAY 03: Ayers Rock to Kings Canyon (321 km)
Take some more time this morning to explore the region. You may wish to rise early to experience the beautiful sunrise over Uluru. Leaving Ayers Rock behind take the Lasseter Highway and pass by the majestic flat topped mountain, Mt Conner. Turn left and take the Luritja Road to Kings Canyon. Skirt the rim of the Canyon and hold your breath as you gaze 300 metres down to the valley floor. The soaring sandstone walls frame the “Garden of Eden”, a unique waterhole surrounded by palms and ferns.

 

DAY 04: Kings Canyon to Glen Helen (234 km)
Make an early start to do the Kings Canyon Rim Walk is early in the morning when it is cool. Depart Kings Canyon for some real outback four wheel driving! Travel the Mereenie Loop Road through the Gardiner Range and over Walker Creek. Turn left on Namatjira drive into Glen Helen. Near Glen Helen visit Ormiston Gorge which offers visitors all the spectacular geology and landforms of the MacDonnell Ranges. The permanent waterhole at Glen Helen Gorge is home to many species of animals, including a variety of water birds and fish. Glen Helen provides a perfect base from which to explore the West Macs region.

 

DAY 05: Glen Helen to Alice Springs (132 km)
On your way to Alice Spring today explore the majestic MacDonnell Ranges, where it is a destination in its own. Make your next stop at the Palm Valley, Hermannsburg and Redbank Gorge which sits in the shadow of Mount Sonder, this shady gorge is another great stop along the Red Centre Way. Travel east along Namatjira towards Larapinta and make your way into Alice Springs.

 

DAY 06: Alice Springs
Drop your car off at the airport today by the same time as it was picked up on Day 1 to avoid any additional charges.
