DAY 01: Perth to Hyden (340 km)
Collect your vehicle from Perth and head to Hyden to see the iconic Wave Rock; Western Australia’s famous rock formation which looks like a wave. Visit Hippo’s Yawn, an amazing rock formation nearby and also an historical Aboriginal site.
DAY 02: Hyden to Kalgoorlie (487 km)
Head north to the Goldfields; you have the next three nights in Kalgoorlie, plenty of time to explore this vast landscape.
DAY 03: Kalgoorlie
Today take a tour of the Super Pit, the largest open cut mine in Australia.
DAY 04: Kalgoorlie and Gormley Statues (207 km one way)
Drive one and a half hours north through the historic town of Menzies to the 51 Gormley Statues at Lake Ballard. On your return, stop in at the historic outback pub at Ora Banda.
DAY 05: Kalgoorlie to Perth (600 km)
Follow the historic Kalgoorlie water pipeline through the Goldfields and Wheatbelt country back to Perth.
Your car is booked until tomorrow and should be returned to either the city or airport depot by the same time as it was picked up on day 1 to avoid any additional charges.
