DAY 01: Kangaroo Island
Kangaroo Island is the largest island off the South Australian coast and shows nature at its wildest and most majestic in a magical combination of sun and sea, native flora and fauna. The coastline of the island changes from the attractive curved beach at Emu Bay to the rugged cliffs and roaring surf of the south. On the west are two of the island’s natural wonders; Admirals Arch, a huge arch where stalactites are silhouetted against the afternoon sun, a magnificent sight. The other is Remarkable Rocks, huge unusually shaped granite boulders.

 

DAY 02: Kangaroo Island to Victor Harbour (61 km to Cape Jervis)
Make your way to Penneshaw and take the morning passenger and vehicle ferry to Cape Jervis. Head to Victor Harbor, where it is all about the sun, surf, sand, stunning views and intimate wildlife encounters. Today you can also walk across the Causeway or take the horse drawn tram to explore Granite Island, if visiting between June and September keep your eye out for whales.

 

DAY 03: Victor Harbour to Robe (355 km)
Travel up north making your way towards Murray Bridge, then around Lake Alexandria, skirting through Lake Albert. You will then continue south along the coast, along Coorong National Park before you reach Robe. Robe was once a thriving ships port and prides itself on the preservation of the town’s history.

 

DAY 04: Robe to Port Campbell (380 km or via the Grampians 590 km)
A choice of routes is available. The shorter route will take you via Millicent, and on to Mount Gambier and then along the coast to
Portland and then onto Port Fairy. The longer route means a very early start, from Robe travel to Penola and then through the towns of Hamilton, Coleraine and Casterton and onto Bulart Dunkeld. From Dunkeld a scenic drive will take you through the Grampians National Park and onto Halls Gap. Back track to Dunkeld and travel via Penhurst to reach arrnambool. Continue along the coast until you reach Port Campbell. Port Campbell is only 10 minute drive from the 12 Apostles.

 

DAY 05: Port Campbell to Melbourne (283 km)
Enjoy driving back to Melbourne at your leisure today. You may wish to see the 12 Apostles at sunrise before continuing your journey a lot the Great Ocean Road. Take time to stop at all the quaint small towns along the way for a coffee or lunch.

Your car is booked until tomorrow and should be dropped off at the city or airport, by the same time as it was picked up on Day 1, to avoid any additional charges.
