Rockingham

Just a 40 minute drive south of Perth, and 55 minute train ride, the seaside town of Rockingham offers many memorable experiences and activities for day trips and short getaways. A highlight of any visit to this area is swimming with wild dolphins when you take a tour out to the dolphin pods offshore. The region’s clear waters have been home to the same group of dolphins for more than 50 years and the local community is understandably proud of its 150 plus bottlenose friends. Swimming with these intelligent creatures on a tour as they frolic in their natural environment is an amazing experience, and one you won’t forget in a hurry.In addition take a tour out to nearby Penguin Island to see the gorgeous fairy penguins close up; followed by a visit to the interpretive centre to gain an understanding of the diminutive birds.
