Monkey Mia has recently welcomed a new dolphin calf named Samu. Born in the popular dolphin attraction of Shark bay, Samu is about 60cm long. The young calf was named after a research scientist, Dr Amy Samuels, who provided much needed research into dolphin behavior, but sadly lost her battle with cancer last year. A second dolphin from Monkey Mia is due to give birth next month. Another exciting event coming up is the return of the whale sharks! With the welcoming of two dolphins calf’s and the whale shark season beginning around March, bookings are essential for holidays to Monkey Mia.
