Diggers Rest Station

Sit back and enjoy station life and the magnificent Kimberley Lansdcape or join in the many station activities. Trail rides, horse trekking, fishing and bushwalking available.
It is a relaxing place to visit with amazing scenery, abundant birdlife and the buzz of station activities with the horses and animals. Diggers Rest was one of the locations used to shoot Baz Luhrmann’s Australia in the Kimberley.
The flat top mountains you see in Australia dominate the landscape around Wyndham and Kununurra, and the famous Cockburn Ranges are visible right from Diggers doorstep. Digger’s Rest Station was home to over 90 of the film’s crew and cast for several weeks in 2007. The property was transformed into a whirlwind of cinematic activity. It was truly an exciting time, with actors and crew coming and going by vehicle and helicopter. Names such as Baz Luhrmann, Hugh Jackman, David Wenham, David Gulpilil, and others have been left in signature on the walls of the homestead. Choose from air-conditioned bunkhouse accommodation or a Homestead Bush Hut.
