Perth

Perth

Founded in 1829 by Captain James Stirling Perth and its sister port of Fremantle soon became boom towns when Gold was discovered in the 1880s. Today the city is the centre of commerce and communications for the entire western half of Australia and its residents enjoy a lifestyle that is the envy of the world.

One great asset of the city is the broad Swan River, which meanders through parkland and suburb as it makes its way to the sea at Fremantle. Overlooking the river at the western edge of the city is Kings Park.
