One of the most spectacular sites on the remote Kimberley Coast of Western Australia is The Mitchell Plateau and the Mitchell Falls. Accessible only by helicopter or 4 wheel drive vehicle Via the Gibb River Road you need to be equipped for camping if you wish to spend time at the Plateau allow at least 3 days and be sure to get local advise before venturing into the bush.

The walk trail from the falls car park is marked and the round trip can take 4 to 6 hours so be prepared, but once you make the effort you will be rewarded with a view of these famous falls which have a 5 fall drop. During the main tourist season a helicopter is often based at the falls car park for short flights over the falls.
